logo_sgacIf you are a student or young professional, between 18 and 35 years old and member of the Space Generation Advisory Council, you have an opportunity to apply for a scholarship to attend this conference!

About the Contest    

Once more the IAASS and SGAC are teaming up to organize the 2016 Space Safety Competition. The awardees of the scholarship will be supported to participate to the 8th IAASS conference.

Applicants are asked to submit their abstracts on any of the space safety topics listed in the Conference Main Topics section. Authors must submit the abstract following the guidelines described in the Abstract Submission section by December 11th, 2015. In addition, abstracts are to be sent to Conference Awareness Lead, Carmen Felix ( accompanied by a brief biography of the primary author and a recent photo. Only the primary author will be considered for the scholarship.

A review panel will provide the results of the competition outcome by February 8th. Winners will be informed soon after this date. NOTE: Notification of abstract acceptance by the Conference Program Committee is not in any way an indication of award result. The authors of accepted abstracts but not showing at the conference will be penalized for future competitions, therefore, if you are not able to present the paper at the conference, please, make sure to inform the conference organizing committee accordingly.

About the Prize / Scholarship

There will be three (3) scholarships awarded to the best technical submissions to attend the 8th International IAASS Space Safety Conference "Safety First, Safety for All". Each of the scholarships will include free registration at the conference and gala dinner, travel expenses and accommodation (up to $1500 – justified expenses). The paper selection criteria are technical merit, accuracy, quality and relevance to conference topics. Papers have to be the result of authors’ research and shall not have already been presented or published at any other conference/proceedings. The award / scholarship will be given after conference attendance based on justified expenses (i.e.: receipts) and cost economizing travel choices. Winners will be selected to present their work in an oral presentation. After the conference, winners will be requested to write a small article for SGAC and IAASS newsletters about their experience.
